Perch
are a popular panfish. The common names for Perch
are; lake Perch, American Perch and yellow Perch.
They can be caught with a variety of fishing methods.
The three
best techniques are bobber fishing; spin fishing
and artificial lure fishing. In many cases when
float fishing for Perch, anglers use live baits
such as minnows, worms and maggots.
Although
Perch is typically extremely aggressive bait and
hook eater and it can grow up to around 5 lb or
more, the majority of Perch caught in the United
States waters are on average of 1 lb or less. Anything
above the 2 lb is considered as trophy catch.
